Sustainability and material responsibility
Insect net
Insect nets are made of polyethylene (PE), usually high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The material combines high mechanical strength with low weight and is chemically inert when in contact with crops, soil, and water. The product is UV-stabilized for long-term outdoor use and is intended for multi-season use. With proper handling, insect nets have a lifespan of 10-15 years.
The high dimensional stability ensures that the mesh size is maintained over time, which is crucial for effective protection against flying and crawling pests. Insect nets contain no plasticizers or heavy metals and do not affect crop quality or the chemical balance of the soil.
After use, insect nets should be sorted as plastic waste. Polyethylene is fully recyclable and can be recycled within established plastic recycling systems where purity requirements are met. Before sorting, the net should be cleaned of soil, plant residues, and foreign materials.
Non-woven fabric
The non-woven fabric is made of polypropylene (PP) in a non-woven structure. Polypropylene is a lightweight and chemically inert material that does not release harmful substances into the soil or crops during use. The material is moisture-resistant and requires no additives such as plasticizers or heavy metals.
The product is developed for multi-season use and is UV-stabilized for a controlled lifespan when exposed outdoors, which reduces the need for frequent replacements and thus resource consumption.
After use, the non-woven fabric should be sorted as plastic waste. Polypropylene is fully recyclable and can be materially recycled. The non-woven fabric must be cleaned of soil and plant residues before sorting and must not be left in nature or fragmented.
Ground cover
Agryl P-50 is made of polypropylene (PP) and is UV-stabilized. The ground cover is not biodegradable and should therefore be sorted as plastic waste after use.
Hemp ground cover consists of hemp fiber that naturally composts within 12-36 months depending on the product. The hemp compost provides a long-term structural improvement to the soil that stimulates microbial life and increases the soil's water retention capacity, creating a better root environment.
Our hemp products come from cultivation within the EU and are organically certified by Ecocert. Hemp products have a strong environmental profile; the cultivation of industrial hemp (without narcotic content) is very resource-efficient, has low water requirements, is not affected by insect pests, yields high returns per hectare, and harvest residues and roots have structure-improving properties.
